Q- Who is HEA's target audience?
A- Happily Ever Ancestry offers three separate services (HEA online workshop, HEA for foster youth, and HEA counseling).
The HEA online workshop is for all those who seek deeper connection to their family history. At HEA we use the names you have in your tree to enrich your genealogical experience. We bring the names and stories in your family tree to life. By exploring family stories and traditions we help you to gain resiliency, a greater self-identity, confidence and less anxiety.
The HEA online workshop is for those who have ever asked themselves whether or not they have sufficient information about their background to navigate in today's world. It is for people who have wondered who they are and their purpose in life. It is for people who have traced their family back several generations but wish to have a deeper connection with the information they already have.
HEA counseling provides counseling services for those who have been affected by adoption, foster care or who are involved in any stage of family finding.
HEA for foster youth works primarily with youth who have either been adopted or in foster care. Often youth who have been adopted or raised in foster care experience feelings of loss, not knowing where they fit in, and not feeling connected to those around them. Happily Ever Ancestry was created in order to help these youth gain more resiliency, a greater self-esteem and less anxiety by exploring their roots.
Q- Is the HEA workshop individualized?
A- Happily Ever Ancestry recognizes the importance of exposing everyone to their own cultural and genealogical histories and they do this through various methods taught through the Happily Ever Ancestry program.
There are some suggested assignments and group work involved as the workshop and in person one-on-one sessions are intended to be interactive. In the end you likely will feel much more connected to your history and more at peace with your experiences.
Our Expertise
Victoria Muse, the CEO and founder of Happily Ever Ancestry is herself adopted and has been working in the mental health field for close to 15 years. She has an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and has worked as a therapist as well as a Parent Consultant for therapeutic foster youth before becoming a Program Director in a therapeutic foster agency.
Victoria has training in Trauma Informed Care as well as many treatment modalities geared towards improving the lives of those in her care.
Victoria spent years building a family tree that she was able to build back to the 1700s after she found her birth family. She has nurtured a loving relationship with both her bio parents since finding them (as well as her adoptive family) and knows the benefits firsthand of connecting with your family history.
HEA combines genealogy with therapeutic experience and knowledge. HEA looks forward to bringing your family history to life.
